Pastor David R. Green, 71, was called home by his Heavenly Father, on Sunday, September 27, 2026. He was born in Racine, WI, on March 13, 1955, the son of the late James E. and Christine (nee: Roberson) Green.
David’s parents led him to the Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a member ofWayman A.M.E church where he served on the Usher Board, Stewart Board, and led the Children’s Moment service each Sunday. He accepted the Lord’s call to become a ministerand transitioned to Gregg Chapel C.M.E. church where he remained the Pastor until hishealth declined in July 2026.
David was a graduate of William Horlick High School, Gateway Technical College, and Moody Bible College. He had been employed by S.C. Johnson and Sons, Johnson Control, and the Racine Unified School District. David was an avid gardener and great cook, his family could count on his spaghetti and apple cobbler at each gathering. David was a playwright, he brought his scripts to life on stage through plays at local community centers. He cherished the time spent with family and friends. Although he did not have his own children, he had an unbreakable bond with his nephews, John Ross and Justin Helm, and his great niece Parker Helm.
Surviving are his siblings, Tony (Lisa) Green of West Salem, WI., Johnny R. (Antoinette) Green of Las Cruces, NM, JeZ E. (Minerva) Green, Arthur L. Green, Denise (John K.) Helm all of Racine. Goddaughters, Larina Green and Destiny Reese. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, James L. Green, and nephew Jeremiah.
