Franksville – Peter James Ross, age 89, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded with the love of his family, on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Born the 8th of 9 children & the older twin of the 9th child, Peter was born on the family farm in Franksville (just off Golf Road & I-94 Frontage Road) on June 26, 1937 to the late Hubert and Faustyna (nee: Piskula) Roscizewski.

Peter attended Union Grove High School and worked tirelessly on the family farm for many years. On January 23, 1960 in St. Louis Catholic Church – Caledonia, Peter was united in marriage with the love of his life, Barbara Ann (nee: Hansen).

Pete was employed as an accomplished machinist for Gorton Mfg. and Metler- Toledo Scale until he retired. Peter was a lifetime member of St. Louis Catholic Church. Among his interests, he enjoyed deer hunting, bowling (especially at the old J&W Lanes on Main St. in Racine), baseball/softball, golf, dartball, finding a deal at estate sales & auctions plus critiquing what the sellers asking prices were, listening to classic country music and offering words of wisdom based off of Seinfeld episodes. Above all, Peter was all about his family. He attended every event possible of his children & grandchildren. They were his everything.

Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 67 years, Barbara Ross; son, Randy (Peggy) Ross; daughter, Terri (Mark) Karls; grandchildren, Rachel (Evan) Zimmerman, Ryan (Emily) Ross, Nicolette (Theodore Wegner) Karls, Stephanie (Kyle) Saunders and Kaitlyn (fiancé, Jack Sanders) Karls; great-grandchildren, Ian & Valerie Zimmerman; sister, Caroline Michels; twin brother, Paul (Donna) Roscizewski; sisters-in-law, Grace & Doris Roscizewski, Sheila Hansen, Elvira (Mike) Denney & Lorraine (Karl Sylvester) Hansen; many special nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends – too numerous to mention all by name.

In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by their infant daughter in 1960; brothers, Alex (Jean) Ross, Ervin (Beth) Roscizewski, Robert (Jane) Roscizewski, Jerome Roscizewski and Hubert (Gloria) Ross; sister, Virginia (Clarence) Michels; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Irene Ross, Bernard Michels, Fred Hansen & Dorothy (Allen) LeBlanc; Barbara’s parents, Frederick “Al” and Louise C. (nee: Symoens) Hansen; and by special nephew, Jerry “JR” Roscizewski, who was especially close to Peter’s heart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 11:00 in St. Louis Catholic Church (13207 HWY G in Caledonia) with Fr. Thomas Vathappallil officiating. Interment will be in St. Louis Cemetery. A luncheon will follow. Visitation will be in St. Louis Church on Tuesday from 9:30 – 11:00 am.
