Phyllis Frazier

Feb 7, 1944 – May 19, 2016

Racine – Phyllis Ann Frazier (nee: Lee), age 72 of Racine, Wisconsin entered into her new life on Thursday, May 19th.  Phyllis was born on February 7, 1944 in Marion, Illinois to Martha Lee.   At the age of nine months, Phyllis’ mother passed away and she was later adopted by loving parents: John and Bessie Porch (nee: Bostick).
Phyllis attended Herrin High School in Herrin, Illinois.  She moved to Racine, Wisconsin in 1963 with her favorite aunt, Julia Bostick (Mama Jugi).
Phyllis was a warrior woman; and despite the many challenges she faced, she overcame each of them with strength and grace.  She was a woman of excellence and perseverance; she was sweet beyond measure, dedicated, cared for many and gave deeply and sincerely.   She lived the words of Christ in deed, in action and in spirit.
She worked for UW-Extension for 18 years and received many awards and accolades.  She was a natural teacher and taught women and families how to maximize their limited budgets to eat healthier.  Phyllis was a dedicated first-lady to her husband’s church for over 10 years; and later an active and faithful member of Shiloh Church of God in Christ; and most recently a member of Gateway Global Ministries.
Above all, Phyllis fought a good fight.   After her stroke, she never allowed her disability to stop her from being independent and taking care of business.  She loved to travel with her daughters and you often found her on a flight to Folly and Myrtle Beach (SC), Destin Beach, FL, Jamaica; or sailing on a cruise to Puerto Rico, Aruba and Dominica.  All who encountered her fell in love with her lust for life and when they touched her they could not get enough of her buttery soft skin.
Phyllis was greeted into her new life by her husband of 24 years, Rev. Frank Frazier, daughter, Anita L. Frazier; sister, Velma Stevenson; second mother, Julia Bostick, her parents and a host of other relatives and friends.
Phyllis left a legacy of love and strength.  Phyllis’ legacy will be continued by her generations: April Lee (Racine), Arnetta Frazier (Parsippany, New Jersey), Arletta Tucker (husband, Rev. Myron Tucker; Racine), Angela Frazier (Chicago) and her grandsons:  Jauqius Frazier-Buckman (Chicago) and Malik Frazier (Racine).
Phyllis is also survived by her brother-cousin, Donald Bostick; cousin, Carol Bostick; niece and nephew Cathy and Jimmie Stevenson; best friends, Betty Ramsey and Katherine Morrow; special friend, Mary Rae Bonner; and host of other loving family and friends.
Phyllis will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 24th.  Visitation will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home (4600 County Line Road, Racine, WI) at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am with Pastor Elias Ramsey officiating.  Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

To my Sister Cousins and all of the Frazier family. May God bless you and keep you in this hour of need. Know that sorrow only endure for a season but joy comes in the morning. Continue to look unto the hills from whence all of your help comes from and know that all of your help comes from the Lord.

So sorry to hear the sad news. Our mother loved her. She enjoyed working with her and cherished their friendship. For years you didn’t see one without the other. We thought of her as one of the family Th ose are precious memories. Phyllis was an amazing lady and we feel blessed to have known her. Our family is keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Mike and the staff went above and beyond during our very difficult time with passing of our Opa. Mike helped relieve the immense stress by being extremely professional, paying attention to the smallest details and the overall kindness and compassion in caring for our family at our time of need. We do not believe that a thank you truly covers our deep gratitude towards you. Thank you for everything you have done for us.
