Piroska "Petie" Paal, 93, passed away peacefully at Ridgewood Care Center on Monday, February 17, 2020. She was born in Arad, Romania on November 6, 1926 the daughter of the late Illés and Piroska (nee: Dobroka) Dalacsi.

On September 6, 1947, in Papa, Hungary, she was united in marriage to Andor Paal. Mrs. Paal and her family came to Racine from Hungary in 1957. She was a long-standing member of St. Edward Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and sacristan.

Surviving are her son Andor Paal Jr. of Racine; daughter, Liz (Paul) Nass of Mt. Pleasant; former daughter-in-law, Karen Paal of Union Grove; four grandchildren, Aaron (Jennifer) Paal of Racine, Justin (Sara) Nass of Janesville, Eric Nass of Mt. Pleasant, and Alan Paal of Kenosha; four great grandchildren, Eric SP Nass of Mt. Pleasant, Kaiden and Anthony Nass of Janesville, Asher Paal of Racine; sisters, Ilona Kriston, of Mt. Pleasant and Maria Pintér of Pápa, Hungary.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mrs. Paal was preceded in death by her brother, Illés Dalacsi and sister, Elizabeth Horvath.

Service Details

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward Catholic Church, 15 ^th and Grove Ave. on Saturday, February 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Allan Bratkowski officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Private burial will take place  Holy Cross Cemetery Highway 32.
