Obituary

Ramona Yvette Herron, affectionately known as "Mona", entered into eternal life on November 16, 2011, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.  Mona was born in Racine on March 3, 1969, daughter of Kathy Herron and Christopher Bogan, Sr.

Mona graduated from J.I. Case High School in 1988.  She attended Bryant & Stratton College, MATC and the Institute Beauty Academy. A keen sense of fashion led Ramona to Southern California, where she pursued a career in modeling. Soon after, Mona became a Tour Guide for Hollywood Tours in California entertaining visitors from all over the world. She loved being immersed in the entertainment industry.

Being a free spirit with a quick wit about her, Mona had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh that could light up a room.  She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading her Bible. At an early age, she confessed Christ and was baptized at Saint Lukes Baptist Church.  Mona was a health guru and enjoyed cooking nutritious foods.  Above all, Mona loved spending time with her beloved children and her entire family.

Ramona's love for others was always genuine, her belly-busting laughter constant, and her ability to comfort was admirable and cherished. Anyone graced by her presence of beauty and spirit was blessed to have such a person cross their path in the journey of life. So nurturing and caring, Ramona would lend good advice, a big hug and lots of jokes when it was needed. Laughter would end any conversation had with her, no matter what it was. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

A Homegoing Celebration is being held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, 11am, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 1250 Lathrop Avenue, with Pastor J. Mark Freeman and Minister Jerry L. Thomas, Jr. officiating. Interment will take place following the service at West Lawn Memorial Park, 9000 Washington Avenue.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
