Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 12:00 noon in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue in Racine

Visitation: in the church on Saturday from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon

Racine – Raul Valadez, age 59, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, at his home on Sunday, March 12, 2017.

Raul was born in Milwaukee on August 8, 1957 to Ygnacio and Mary (nee: Alvarez) Valadez. He faithfully served our country with the US Army National Guard from 1974-1980. Raul was a graduate of Gateway Technical College with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts. Raul had been employed with Dremel Mfg., JI Case Co., High Ridge Hospital, United Mechanical and Intermet / Ganton, from where he retired in 2005 as a lead man.

As a sports fanatic, Raul enjoyed softball, basketball, shooting pool, coaching little league football and was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan. He loved spending time with his entire family.

Surviving are his former wife, Trisha Valadez; children, Emma, Santino and Glenn Valadez; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; mother, Mary Valadez; brothers and sisters, Ray (Isabel) Valadez, Hilda (Alfonso) Coronado, Araceli Valadez and Otoniel (Lydia) Valadez; aunt, Virginia Reynosa; lifelong best-friend, John Ayers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Raul was preceded in death by his father, Ygnacio Valadez; step-father, Benny Gonzalez; and brother, Homer Valadez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 12:00 noon in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Javier Guativa officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon.

    Tio Raul Everytime I left to other places, I always made my first stop to Racine, to see you, grandma and Araceli. You always had a great smile and big bear hugs. I love you and will miss you immensely. I will hold you forever in my 💓. I will have you here close to me. God has you and will look out for you, soon we will all one day be together…..Miss you
