Ray Alan Zabrowski, age 74, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, at his home at The Dayton Care Center following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Ray was born on April 17, 1951, to the late Raymond Lewis and Edith (nee: Dutton) Zabrowski. A lifelong resident of the area, Ray spent his formative years in the Lake Park neighborhood of Mt. Pleasant before moving to County Line Road and later Kenosha. He was a proud graduate of Hansche Elementary and Starbuck Junior High, eventually earning his diploma from Kenosha Bradford High School in 1969.

From a young age, Ray was known for his strong work ethic. In his youth, he worked the onion fields at Piper Farms and managed a Milwaukee Sentinel paper route. He later served the community by selling newspapers at the J.I. Case Clausen Works gate and working at the Kerr-McGee gas station.

While attending his first year of college and throughout his life, Ray faced the challenges of Schizoaffective Disorder with resilience. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, and in his younger days, was an active participant in bowling, golf, and fishing. Ray also enjoyed playing poker and bingo games with friends at The Dayton Care Center. His presence will be missed by his fellow residents, friends, and the staff at The Dayton Care Center, where he had resided since 2020.

Ray is survived by his brother, Geoffrey (Ellen) Zabrowski of Racine; his nieces, Caryn (John) Schwengel of Milwaukee and Janet Zabrowski of Madison; his great-niece and great-nephew, Hailey and John Schwengel; his dear friend, Lisa VanDyke; and many cousins and relatives in the U.S. and England. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his sister, Pamela Faye Brown.
