Obituary

Racine – Renee Susan Stommel, 60, passed away at Ascension All Saints on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
She was born in South Milwaukee on August 13, 1965, the daughter of the late Wayne and Laura (nee: Prudhomme) Bolter.  She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1985.
Renee married Bill Stommel at St. Lucy Catholic Church on January 7, 1989.  He preceded her in death on October 11, 2019.
Renee worked as a surgical tech for many years for Aurora St. Luke's in Milwaukee and Aurora Surgical Center in Racine.  However, she also went back for her Bachelor's degree and taught at Westridge Elementary and Starbuck Middle Schools before retiring.
She enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking and being on the water fishing with her husband.  However, she was happiest in the company of her family, especially her grandchildren.
Renee is survived by her sons, William (Nicole) Stommel and Matt (Heather) Stommel; her grandchildren, Jada, Madeline, Giana, Liam, and Lucas; her sister, Wendy (Bolter) Nault; her sisters-in-law, Katie (Dan) Hossalla and Susan Anderson; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Renee was preceded in death by her faithful yellow lab, Cloe.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, March 5, 2026 , for a visitation from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm .  A service celebrating and honoring her life will follow at 6:00 pm .
