Obituary

Richard was born on June 7, 1941, in Racine, Wisconsin to the late Camille and Esther (Pearson) Klofanda. He graduated from Park High School in 1959. He served our nation honorably in the Air National Guard from 1963 until 1969 as an airman first class and apprentice weather observer. On January 15, 1966, he married the love of his life, Victoria Wade. Richard went to work for the Racine Police Department on March 16, 1970, until he retired with the rank of Captain on June 30, 2001. He attended the University of Wisconsin Parkside and received his undergrad BA in sociology in 1975 and Masters of Public Administration in 1982.

Richard was a member of the Flagler County Corvette Club and Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, running (including marathons), sailing, bicycling, and listening to music. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and also the director of the Kiltie Cadet Drum Corps in Racine.

Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Victoria Klofanda; daughter, Christine McDonald and her husband Larry; granddaughters, Charlotte and Madeline McDonald.

Service Details

A Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Richard Eugene Klofanda, 83, of Palm Coast, FL, who passed away on July 10, 2024, will be held at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church on August 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held an hour before mass from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will take place in Peachtree City, GA at a later date.
