Obituary

Richard J. Peasley, 59, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 11, 2014. A lifelong resident of Racine, he born on November 9, 1954, son of the late Louis and Mary (nee: Ruetz) Peasley Sr. Richard was a 1973 graduate of Washington Park High School.

Richard was a machinist by trade, and enjoyed a long career at Snap-On Tools. He had also worked at Bosch and Albany Chicago. He was an avid sports fan, coach and also worked as an umpire and referee for many youth sports leagues including WIAA, RYS, and Olde Timers. His crowning achievement was being part of the coaching staff and winning the 1997 girls state championship for Park High School.

Richard is survived by his children:  Anthony Peasley of Waukesha, Diana (Shawn Sr) Medasie, Erick (Katrina) Peasley, and Matthew Peasley all of Racine, Nicole (Bogdan) Ajtony of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jaclyn (Juan) Peasley-Garcia of Milwaukee, and Kati Peasley of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; brothers and sisters: James (Connie) Peasley, Steve (Sue) Peasley, and Julie (Mike) Bloomer of Necedah, Kathi (Hal) Rasmussen and Joe Peasley of Hustler, Lou (Cindy) Peasley and Karen Neal both of Racine, Linda (Jeff) Vavrin of Kenosha, Sue (Ray) Pruitt of Baraboo, and sister-in-law Debbie Peasley of Racine; his former wife Nancy of Round Lake Beach IL; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother David Peasley.

Complete services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, April 21, 2014. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. followed by his memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials to the family are kindly suggested.
