Mr. Richard M Schurr "Dick Shore", died on November 5, 2009.

He was born on March 17, 1932 and was raised in suburban Philadelphia where he went through all of the many school districts surrounding Philly.

He left Temple University, to become an Arthur Murray Dance Instructor, at which time he met the love of his life, Patricia Creamins, with whom he spent two splendid years together until, with mutual agreement they decided to dissolve their relationship.

One of his major early achievements was being chosen the "East Coast Champion" three years in a row for Ballroom Dance. The Arthur Murray Dance Organization sent him to Racine, WI in 1963, where he opened the Dick Shore Dance Studio and has resided ever since.

He would like to go on record saying that "Life long friendships were developed here in Racine and Kenosha along with a respectful business relationship with Guy Singer who assisted with the dance studio business in Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha". Mr. Schurr was the last one from Kathryn and Arthur's original teachers in SE Wisconsin and Northern Ill. Certification process. Always a gentleman, with music in his soul and the love of dance in his heart, he will be deeply missed by "Sheba", his little baby girl, a miniature yellow Labrador, and everyone else whose lives this remarkable man has ever touched.

There will not be a service, cremation has taken place. Instead there will be a "Dance Party" for all his friends, students, past and present, to honor Dick Shore in celebration of "Dick's" life.
