FRANKLIN (FORMERLY OF FRANKSVILLE) – Richard "Whip" Weippert, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at Creek Side Terrace in Oak Creek on Monday, January 23, 2023.
He was born in Eau Claire on August 16, 1938, the son of Truman and Sarah (nee Lee) Weippert. He married June Norby on October 18, 1958, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Racine.
Dick worked many years for both Western Publishing as a Journeyman book binder, and as sales and parts Manager for Hansen's Motor Sports. He loved motor sports, including drag racing, ice racing, and watching his sons motocross race. He also was passionate about restoring vintage English motorcycles and belonged to the Antique Motorcycle Club. Also, he enjoyed touring the country with his wife on their motorcycle.
In addition to his loving wife June, to whom he was married to for 64 years, he is survived by his sons and daughters, Scott (Donna) Weippert of Union Grove, Lisa (Chris) Slusar of Evansville, Janet (Khris) Radke of Oak Creek, James (Danyelle) Weippert of Sturtevant; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Natalie Kostman, Mitchell Slusar, and Seth, Olivia, and Michael Weippert; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Charmayne Brenner, Dorothy (Steve) Kimpel, Steve (Lynn) Milward, and Jim Dieckman; as well as many dear nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his sisters, Sally (John) Marshall and Susan (Gregory) Thielen; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lamoine (Lenore) Norby, Earl Norby, David (Gloria) Norby, Lincoln Norby, Marcy (Bud) Knecht, and Cheryl Dieckman.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, February 10, 2023, for a visitation from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. A service celebrating and honoring his life will follow at 5:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at Brunswick Cemetery in Eau Claire. Memorials have been suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
The Weippert family extends a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Creek Side Terrace and Compassionate Care Hospice for the loving and professional attention extended to Richard and his family while under their care.
