Racine, WI – Robert Darnell Brumby – Townsend, was born on April 16, 1969, in Racine, Wisconsin to Shirley Brumby and Fred Townsend Jr.

Darnell received his formal education in the Racine Unified School System finishing at Washington Park High School. His was employed by Racine Steel, formerly known as Bell City. He found joy in working to refurbish and sell cars. Through his love of working on cars he came to know and was loved by many. Through his time working on cars, he shared his humor and genuine spirit with all he came in contact with. Darnell loved to attend car shows and travel as well.  Darnell was loved by all the youth both family and non-relatives. He took special interest in teaching them his trade and ensuring he brought a smile to their faces when he encountered them weather it was through a compliment or just cracking a joke (he was known as "suave" by many). His greatest pride and joy was spending time with his family.

On August 27, 2021, Darnell departed this earthly life to live eternally in the presence of GOD.

He leaves to cherish his memories, His daughters:  Danielle (Demonte) Payne, Darnisha Brumby, Summer Brumby all of Racine, WI and Keyanna (Jaxon) Brems of Scottdale, Arizona.  Two sisters: Sharon (Clifford) Smelley and Alisa (Randy) Cameron both of Racine, WI; Two brothers: Terry Brumby of Racine WI, and James (Annie) Fitzpatrick of Belden, MS. Grandchildren: Ariyah Brumby-Stephens, DeMonte Payne Jr., Gabby Wilson, Demya Payne, Aziyah Payne, and Eliyanah Brems, as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name.

Darnell was preceded in death by his grandparents: Billy Stones Brumby, Louis Brumby, Fred Townsend Sr., and Emma D. Townsend.

The Celebration of His Life will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:00am in the chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, Wisconsin.  Visitation will be in the chapel from  9:00am – 11:00am. Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
