Obituary

MOUNT PLEASANT – Roman Peebles, 74, a beloved father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and cherished patriarch, was called to his eternal resting place on April 12, 2026. He was born on May 27, 1951, in Robertsonville, Mississippi, to Willie Mae Peebles.

Roman was a man whose life was defined by love-love for his family and, above all, his love for the Lord. His faith was the foundation of who he was. He was a dedicated member of New Vision Outreach Ministry, faithfully serving under the leadership of his son, Pastor Pinson. Roman served as a committed and dependable trustee, always willing to lend a helping hand, support the church, and ensure that God's house was cared for. His quiet strength, servant's heart, and unwavering dedication left a lasting impact on his church family.

As a devoted father, Roman was always just a call away. Whether it was basketball, football, or baseball, you could always find him in the stands, cheering on his sons with unwavering support. That same love carried into the next generation, where he faithfully showed up for his grandsons' games, continuing a legacy of encouragement, pride, and presence.

Roman's love for sports extended beyond his own family. He traveled with his grandson's AAU teams, where his warmth and spirit made a lasting impact on their teammates and everyone he met. The players affectionately called him "grandpop" and "pops," a title he wore with pride, as he offered guidance, support, and a sense of home wherever he went.

Family gatherings were where Roman truly shined. Though his family was small, it was filled with immense love. He cherished holidays, celebrations, and milestones-any opportunity to bring everyone together. These moments were filled with good food, laughter, and joy. He also found peace in planting and growing flowers, nurturing life just as he nurtured his family.

He is survived by his loving mother, Willie Mae Peebles; his sons, Pastor Taurus (JaTawn) Pinson, Roman (Alicia) Peebles, and Ramon Peebles. His grandchildren, DeReginald Campbell, Lytwan Campbell, Daishon Pinson, Tyrese (Brianna) Pinson, Tioni Dallas, Willow Peebles, Shiloh Peebles, and his great-grandchildren, Kaiden Christman, Amari Christman, Caliana Pinson, his dear friend Maria Santiago, stepsisters Elaine and Elsie Peebles, and nephew Najee Richard. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Willie E. Odum.

Roman's legacy is one of faith, love, and devotion. He leaves behind not only memories but a powerful example of what it means to love God, love family, and serve others wholeheartedly.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, APRIL 25, 2026 , for a visitation from 10 am – 11:00 am.  A service celebrating his life and Homegoing will follow at 11:00 am with his son, Pastor Taurus Pinson officiating.
