Obituary

Ronald Glen Cramer, age 84, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded with the love of family, on March 9, 2026 after fighting a 4-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Ron was a true warrior….as he was given only 3-months to live in 2022.

Ron was born in Warren, Ohio and lived his early life in Newton Falls, OH….graduating with honors from Newton Falls High School in 1959. He went on to study engineering at University of Cincinnati for two years before transferring to Kent State to pursue his passion of design. He graduated from Kent State with of Bachelor of Fine Arts in industrial degign in 1966. While at Kent, Ron met and married Jan (nee: Adler), his loving wife of 61 years.

After graduating, Ron entered the military, becoming an officer in the Army Air Corp of Engineers, serving in Germany.

In 1971, Ron and his family moved to Racine to work at SC Johnson, from where he retired in 1996. Subsequently, he became a teacher for Racine Unified School District, retiring in 2005.

For many years, Ron was active in the Racine Area Soccer Association and served as President when the SCORE soccer complex was built in Franksville. With profound faith, Ron was a proud member of Covenant Presbyterian Church for the past 47 years, serving in various capacities…known for his contagious smile and welcoming personality – especially to any new faces. We will miss his love of life and love of us, his enthusiasm for trying new things and ever present smile.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Jan; daughter, Cindy Johnson (Cory Hudec); son, Jon (Tanya) Cramer; daughter-in-law, Lizz Otto; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives, church family & friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Noble Glen and Emma Elizabeth (nee: Engler) Cramer; and by his beloved son, Jeffrey Glen Cramer.

We will miss his love of life and love of us, his enthusiasm for trying new things and ever present smile.

Services will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church (40 Ohio Street in Racine) on Saturday, March 28 th , 2026 at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow. Visitation will be in Covenant Church on Saturday, March 28 th , from 9:30-11:00 am. In memory of Ron, memorials to Covenant Presbyterian Church have been suggested.

A heartfelt note of thanks to the Aurora Hospice and to our church family at Covenant Presbyterian Church for to compassionate care and spiritual support given in Ron's time of need. May God bless all of you!
