Ronald G.
Uttech
Nov 5, 1947 — Jul 22, 2024
Ronald G. Uttech, age 76, of Kenosha passed away on Monday, July 22nd, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 5th, 1947, in Eau Claire, WI, he was the son of Robert C. Uttech and Patricia R. Uttech.
Ron was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, attending Star School and was a graduate of Salem-Central High School.
Following high school, Ron enlisted in the US Army. He proudly served his country in Vietnam as a military policeman and was honorably discharged in February 1969.
On October 25th, 1975, at St. George Church in Kenosha, he was united in marriage to Janice K. Freitag.
Ron retired as a sheet metal journeyman and was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers International Local Union 18. Ron did not know the meaning of the word "idle" and his motto was always "work hard, play hard". Following his retirement in 2006, he stayed busy repairing lawn mowers, snow blowers and other small engine equipment.
Ron was a dedicated family man. He was very proud of his children and their many accomplishments. When his children found their spouses, Ron was the first to invite them into the family with his witty sense of humor. All together, they enjoyed Sunday family dinners, playing cards and watching Packer and Brewers games. Then along came his four grandchildren. Ron had a magical bond with each one and was always their fiercest protector. They lovingly referred to him as "Papa". Aside from playing with his grandchildren, other hobbies Ron enjoyed included: fishing, gardening, classic cars, motorcycles, and gambling.
Ron is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice; his children, Jennifer (Kurt) Wendorf and Jacob (Noelle) Uttech; his grandchildren, which he greatly adored: Colton, Lucas, Avery, and Cameron; and his siblings, Thomas Uttech, Debra Landers, Kimberly (Thomas) Rouce, and Tammy Uttech.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Patricia Uttech; brother, Robert John Uttech and father- in-law and mother-in-law, Lyle and Lorraine Freitag.
Ron's renowned sense of wit, cleverness and ability to remember everything was cherished by all those that loved and knew him best. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 3-5pm. Service will begin at 5pm with full military honors to follow.
