Ross Abraham De Vuyst, 77, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born in Indianapolis on September 15, 1943, son of the late Lyle and Gertrude (née: Ebbesen) De Vuyst.  The family moved to Bristol, WI, where Ross was raised.

Ross was united in marriage to the former Donna Bambrough on July 16, 1971.  They recently celebrated their 50 ^th Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Ross graduated from Salem Central High School.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN, and then received his Master of Arts from Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  He was self-employed as an accountant until his retirement.

Ross enjoyed reading and doing puzzles, especially Sudoku.  He was a member of the Racine Tuesday Optimist Club and worked for Salmon-A-Rama.  Ross enjoyed volunteering for many years at Our Harmony Club which is an elder day care that gives relief to families that care for elderly patients.  Ross loved travelling the country with his wife, Donna.  They took the trip of a lifetime to Europe and enjoyed every moment.  Above all, Ross treasured his family and loved them tremendously.

Ross leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Donna De Vuyst; children, Joe (Kim Loppnow) Lambke, Melissa (Jeremy Haag) De Vuyst-Haag, Andrew (Jessica) De Vuyst; grandchildren, Alex Lambke, Chris Lambke, Heather (Douglas) Nelson, Brittany Bogan, Branden Bogan; four great-grandchildren; sister, Lauren De Vuyst; and brother-in-law, Donald (Emily) Bambrough; close cousins, Diane (John) Haslam, Andrea (Terrence) Cerni; special friends, Ralph and Ginny Michna, Dave and Darlene Krueger, and the Steve and Dawn Vlach family; other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A memorial celebration of Ross's life will be held on his birthday, Wednesday, September 15, 2021, 6:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road.  Visitation will be from 4:00pm until the time of the service.

The family wishes to thank Ross's therapists and nurses at Ascension cardiac unit, especially April, Bess and Cathy. We also wish to thank Compassus hospice for the compassionate care of Ross so he could be home with us.
