Royljo White who was known to most as “Rajo,” passed away peacefully in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Friday June 06, 2025. Royijo was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 18, 1961 to the late Charles and Arlethia White. He attended Olympia Brown Learning Educational School for special needs children. He worked for Careers (VARC) in Racine WI; he also worked for MRC, McKercher and Alcott Adult Learning Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan, until his passing.

Royljo loved spending time with his brother, sisters, and family. He also loved spending quality time with his brother-in-law, Charles Abbott, that he loved so dearly. He loved listening to Brian McKnight, dancing, but most of all his Art paintings, and showing exhibits with MRC Art in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I would like to give a special thanks of appreciation to Mary Walker, Michael, Valerie, Tanya, and Doris; these are Abbott family.

Royljo leaves to cherish his fond memories his sisters, Pamela White of Puducah, Kentucky, Cynthia White of Madison, WI; brother, Fenton White of Burlington, WI; brother-in-law, Charles Abbott Sr; nieces, Celeste (Adrian) Turner, Tomicca Duffy, Kishia White, and Sherrice (Edward) Jackson; nephews, Charles Abbott Jr, James White, Dwight Duffy Jr, Demetrius Sims, Damarius Sims, and Timothy James.

Royljo was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Arlethia White, Sr.; brother, Charles White, Jr.; sisters, Linda Abbott and Lucinda White; both paternal and maternal grandparents; niece, Chantile (White) Hamm; nephews, William Charles White and Daemond Abbott; and best friend, Charles Williams.

Testimonials

March 13, 2025

Thank you so very much for the exemplary care that you provided for both our mom and dad. Your family is extremely kind and exudes much empathy towards others. You and your staff display much professionalism with great talent and attention to detail. Mom and dad were always very particular in their appearance. Mom would say, You are leaving a lasting impression of yourself with someone to remember you by. Your parents taught you boys well; be very proud of that! Love on them, as death is so very permanent.

Holly and I are officially orphans now. It is people like your family and David Huck being there for us, that bring comfort when you are going through one of the most difficult challenges life throws at you.

I thank God every day for our Ostergaard family and will always cherish the memories.

Love you,

Jody Burlingame Wagner
