Racine – Ruthe Mae (nee: Grice) McFarland, age 75, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.
Ruthe was born in Marktree, Arkansas on February 12, 1941 to the union of Sylvester and Hattie Campbell. Ruthe was united in marriage to Willie C. Thomas McFarland. She moved to Racine in 1967. Ruthe accepted Christ as her Savior and often worshiped at Greater St. Luke's Missionary Baptist Church. She worked for GCA for over 27 years as a supervisor until her retirement.
Ruthe was a great role model as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a wonderful wife. Ruthe enjoyed being around her children, family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, socializing, playing cards, Bingo and loved her Green Bay Packers.
Ruthe leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Willie (Debbie) McFarland, Robert (Sue) McFarland and Billy (Janet) McFarland; daughters, Sherry McFarland, Beatrice McFarland, Mary McFarland, Tammy (David) Price and Vickie McFarland; God-sons, Dwayne Campbell and Jerome Phillips; 20 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sylvester, Charles and Joe Lee; sisters, Bobbie, Martha, Jimmy Lee "Lil Sis", Jerline and Willie Bell; special cousins, Rosie Hicks and Mary Ann Jones; special friends, Virginia Author, Liz Lockridge, Freddie King and Evelyn Monroe; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention by name.
Ruthe was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Hattie Campbell; husband, Willie C. Thomas McFarland; sister, Mae Dell White; grandson, Tyreese Mitchell; aunts, Rosie Lee Phillips and Leola Wilson; and uncle, Sonny Boy Wilson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 3:00 pm in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Viewing will be in the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
