Racine – Sandra Jo “Sandy” Jensen (nee: Luxem), passed away at Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Sandy was born in Racine to Joseph and Borghild (nee: Hosted) Luxem on June 24, 1938. She graduated from Park High School and was employed by Racine Unified School District, retiring in 2001. On October 25, 1958, Sandy was united in marriage with Allen C. Jensen. Among her interests, Sandy was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church and involved in the church’s homeless shelter program R.E.S.T.; she was active in the local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters; she enjoyed traveling with Allen; and first and foremost, Sandy loved spending time with her family as they meant everything to her (especially all the grandchildren and great grandchildren!).

Surviving are her loving husband, Allen; daughter, Linda (Donald) Dembiec; son, Thomas (Mary Lou) Jensen; grandchildren, Antonio Garcia, Stephanie (Chad) Bauer and Sarah Dembiec; great grandchildren, Mateo and Zandy Garcia, and Aria, Hailey and Adam Bauer; brother, Peter (Karen) Luxem; sisters, Linda Feest and Heidi Kappa; special nephew, Daniel Kappa; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Borghild; stepfather, Bernard Ruilmann; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Earl Born, Ruth and Michael Grayson, Michael Kappa and Randy Feest.

Per Sandy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Allen and family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant for their compassionate care and support given in Sandy’s time of need.
