Racine – Sandra Lee "Sandy" Radford, 58, passed away at her residence on January 7, 2013, surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Racine on July 13, 1954, daughter of the late Dennis Harold and Florence Louise (nee: Klein) Radford, Sr.

Sandy graduated from J.I. Case High School in 1973.  She then received her nursing degree from Gateway Technical College.  Sandy faithfully helped others as a nurse at Southern Colony in Union Grove until her health no longer allowed her to work.

Sandy was a loving soul who was constantly giving of herself.  She was always there to lend a helping hand with whatever needed to be done.  Sandy was a devoted member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She enjoyed reading and needlepoint.  Sandy was an animal lover and took care of many dogs and cats.  She cherished her family and treasured her nieces and nephews.  Sandy will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Sandy leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings, James (Linda) Radford of Jackson, MI, Dennis Harold Radford, Jr., Sherrie Kaufman, both of Racine; niece and nephews, Steven Daniel Kaufman, Javanta William Kaufman, Ashley Marie Kaufman, Gregory Lynn Kaufman, all of Racine; brother-in-law, Jack Lauze of Milwaukee; other relatives and dear friends from the church too numerous to mention.  In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Ann Lauze; brother-in-law, Daniel Harold Kaufman; and numerous aunts and uncles.

A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, January 14, 2013, 12:00pm, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1444 30 ^th Avenue, Kenosha, with Bishop Dan Crowther officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.  The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, or to the family for a memorial to be established.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt "Thank You" to Dr. Lisa Wolf and her staff as well as Dr. Marcus Kennedy and his staff.  We are grateful for the love and care you gave to Sandy over the years.
