Mount Pleasant (formerly of Sturtevant) – Sarah C. Davig, 87, passed away at WFH – All Saints on June 12, 2015.
On December 1, 1927 Sarah entered this world. Then on June 12, 2015, she left this world. Her early years were spent in Soldiers Grove, WI, where she lived on a farm and went to school. On July 10, 1948, she married George Kenneth Davig. They moved to the Racine area in 1950. Besides being a wife, mother to two children, she was a crossing guard in Sturtevant for 37 years and ended her 40 years of being an Avon Representative in early 2015. She has been a member of Faith Lutheran Church for many years. For Sarah, her greatest accomplishment was her children.
Preceding her in passing, were her father, mother, stepfather, “best friend” and sister-in-law, Marcella Swiggum, and her husband of nearly 45 years, George.
Sarah will be genuinely missed by her daughter, Sharon, her son, Gerhard, granddaughter, Tara, great granddaughter, Marina, grandson Gerhard, daughter-in-law, Bobbi, nieces, nephews and friends. Sarah will be remembered for her loving, caring ways.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday evening for a visitation from 5-7 pm. The celebration of Sarah’s life and funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church (8500 Durand Ave. in Sturtevant) on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Mortenson officiating. There will also be a visitation in the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. Her interment will follow the service at West Lawn Memorial Park.
