Obituary

RACINE – Sharon Marzette, 72, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

A lifelong resident of Racine, she was born on July 1, 1947, the daughter of the late Henry L. and Sammie (nee: Poindexter) Preston.

Sharon graduated from Washington Park High School and retired from SC Johnson Wax after 30 years of service.  She was a longtime member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.  Sharon enjoyed cooking, shopping and being in the presence of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Mathew (Karla) Marzette; her daughter, Autumn (Aubrey) Marzette-Anderson both of Racine; her grandchildren, Alexander, Quentin, Briana, Amber, Allyssa, Alexandria, Mathew jr., Shauntee, Yontae and Preston; her step-grandchildren, Jeron Bell, Tekeyia Bell, Brey and Abbel Anderson; as well as her dear friends, Shirleen (Olen) Williams and Donna Hamilton.  In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sisters in law, Lynette and Maria Marzette; cousins Elizabeth Johnson, Marion Johnson, Mirion Jones, George Mitchell, George Mitchell II and friend, Dorothy Sutton.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, June 27, 2020 for a visitation from 9-10 a.m.  A service celebrating her life and Homegoing will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating.  A private interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery. In accordance with Racine County mandate, only 50 people will be allowed to enter the funeral home at a time.  You may be required to wait outside until others leave the building.  For the safety and security of our guests we also require those in attendance to bring and wear a face covering.  We thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation during this difficult time .
