Racine – Shirley Marie (nee: Munroe) Ynclan; age 81; passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Friday, March 27, 2015 with her adored family by her side.
Shirley was born in Racine on June 24, 1933 to the late William and Mabel (nee: Fraid) Munroe. On May 21, 1949 in Waukegan, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Natividad "Steve" Ynclan, who preceded her in death on April 17, 2002.
Shirley was employed as an environmental engineer for Racine Unified School District for over 22 years until she retired. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Among her interests, Shirley enjoyed camping – especially at Jellystone in Ft. Atkinson; travelling – especially to Texas; flower gardening; hosting family gatherings; and had an extensive angel collection. Above all, she loved and cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Anita (Jerry) Jensen, Steve (Dolly) Ynclan, Tom (Colleen) Ynclan, Jim (Theresa) Ynclan and Elisa Ynclan; grandchildren, Jason (Keri Viviano) Jensen, Ryan (Christina Taitano) Jensen, Jennifer (Isa) Ortiz, Jesse (Sandy Godina) Ynclan, Troy Ynclan and Matthew Ynclan; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Brittany, Mariah, Alyssa, Gavin, Aria, Victoria and Sophia; great-great- granddaughter, Serenity; brothers, Bill (Paulette) Munroe and Bob (Kris) Munroe; sisters-in-law, Audencia "ChaCha" Barrera and Jesusita "Chita" (Ramon) Garza; brother-in-law, Roy (Lucy) Inclan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce (Robert) Fewless; and by her in-laws, Gabriella and Noberto Ynclan; and by many other dear relatives – too numerous to mention all by name.
Visitation will be in ST. LUCY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3101 Drexel Avenue, on Tuesday evening, March 31, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10-11 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
A special note of thanks to Shirley's nephew / niece, Al & Carol Munroe, for all the care and support given in Shirley's time of need. Our beloved Mother will be sadly missed!
