Racine, WI – Sonya Michele Pulliam-Farris was born on May 5, 1966 to Joyce A. Pulliam (nee: Baker) and Robert L. Pulliam, Jr. in Racine, WI.

Sonya Pulliam-Farris graduated from St. Catherine's High School in Racine, WI and went on to receive her Child Care Certifications at Gateway Technical College in Racine, WI.

Sonya Pulliam-Farris accepted Christ as her Savior at age 7, at St Lucy's Catholic Church in Racine, WI.

Sonya Pulliam-Farris was united in holy matrimony with Rodney Farris, Sr. in Las Vegas, NV. Their union was blessed with 3 children.

Sonya was self-employed having established the World of Exploration Child Day Care which she operated for many years.

In her leisure, Sonya enjoyed spending time with her family, engaging in all sorts of kid's activities, shopping, rummage sales, traveling, cooking, fishing, listening to music and playing spades.

Sonya Pulliam-Farris departed this life on Friday, September 2, 2016. She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents, Anna and George Baker; Paternal Grandfather, Robert Pulliam, Sr.; Brother In-law, Jermaine Howard; and Sister In-law, Tiffany Farris.

Sonya leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving husband, Rodney Farris, Sr.; Children, Domonique Farris (Christopher Searcy), Rodney Farris, Jr., and Andre Farris, all of Racine, Wisconsin. Mother, Joyce Pulliam of Roswell, GA; Father, Robert (Gwynn) Pulliam, Jr. of Racine, WI; In-Laws, Woody (Suzanne) Farris of Racine, WI; Mother In-Law, Katie Farris of Milwaukee, WI; Sisters, Stephanie Pulliam of Roswell, GA, Nikki Grandy of Racine, WI; Brothers, Eric Pulliam (Muna Dualle) of Suwanee, GA, Terrence (Holly) Howard of Dallas, TX; Grandchildren, Camryn and Cayden Searcy of Racine, WI; Great Aunt, Rebecca Black of Racine, WI; Special Mentions, Justin Pulliam (Nephew), Kezahrian (KeeKee) Thompson, Rickie Stevens, and Jahire Hardin, all of Racine, WI. She is further survived by many, many other dear relatives and friends, too numerous to mention by name.

A Celebration of Sonya's Life will be held on Saturday, September 10 ^th , at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Visitation will be from 9:00am until the time of service. Pastor Joseph A. Pipes will be officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation
