Steven John
Stich
Mar 26, 1985 — Jan 13, 2017
Mt. Pleasant – Steven John Stich, 31, passed away due to injuries in a traffic accident on Friday, January 13, 2017. Steve was a 2003 graduate of JI Case High School and a 2005 graduate of Wyotech in Laramie, Wyoming and was currently working at Wanasek Corporation in Burlington.
Often described as a "gentle giant", Steve was big-hearted and a fun-loving friend to everyone who knew him. He enjoyed working on his truck and car; riding dirt bikes; and the company of his family and friends. His passion for helping people made him a great person. Like his best friend Kyle Felton, Steve was taken from us way too soon.
Steve is survived by his parents, Darryl Stich of Mt. Pleasant and Crystal (nee: Nielsen) Stich (Robert Cramer) of Caledonia; his brother Scott Stich; grandparents John Stich, and Mary Sue Sandow; aunts and uncles Vicki Leiberg (Tim Mouw), Dale (Debbie) Stich, Dennis (Deanna) Stich, Vannette Azarian, Carrie Anderson, and Matthew Sandow; his best friends Derek Verhalen and Jake Pfeffer; as well as his cousins and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Kenneth Nielsen, Denyce Stich, and godfather Tony Azarian. A very special thank you to Andy Stinson for staying with Steve until emergency personnel arrived.
Memorial services for Steve will be held in the funeral home at 12 noon on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Interment at West Lawn Memorial Park will follow. Public visitation in the funeral home will begin at 9:30 a.m.
