Suzanne "Sue" M. Zellmer, 71, of Racine, passed away at Accent Care Hospice, Oak Creek, on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. She was born in Fond du Lac, WI on August 9, 1951, the daughter of the late Edgar and Doris (nee: Wapp) Theyerl.

Sue graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac, Class of '69. She and Jerome Zellmer met in the Marquis Drum and Bugle Corps where she was the Drum Major and he was the Drum Instructor. On April 17, 1971, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Fond du Lac, they united in marriage.

Sue loved gardening, cheering for all the Wisconsin sports teams, playing cards, going to casinos, dressing up and going out to dinner. She enjoyed a glass of wine, cooking a wonderful meal for those she cared about, and above all cherished and was proud of her family.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry; their sons, Dru Zellmer, and his partner, Nyki Mamerow of Franklin, WI, Jason, and his partners, Tony Brown and Chris Gazzara; grandson, Matthew Zellmer-Brown, all of Leeds, MA; sisters, Kate (John) Dunton, of Sun Tan Valley, AZ, and Diane (Tom) Frank, of Wausau, WI; brothers, Mark (Diane) Theyerl, of Rosendale, WI, and Bill (Josie) Theyerl, of Fond du Lac, WI; brother-in-law, Allen Zellmer, of Spring Hill FL; sister-in-law, Sue Theyerl, of Waupaca, WI. In addition to her parents, Edgar and Doris, Sue was preceded in death by her brother Steve Theyerl; and sisters-in-law, Donna Hansen and Carolee Zellmer.

Service Details

There will be a gathering from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. followed by a time of sharing celebrating Sue's life, in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd. Mt. Pleasant, WI, on Saturday, January 21st.
