Tasya
Exner
Jan 30, 1975 — Jul 18, 2026
Tasya L. Exner, age 51, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 18, 2026. She was born on January 30, 1975, in Racine, WI to Susan Mattson.
Tasya was deeply loved and respected by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her incredible strength, unwavering loyalty, selflessness, and kind heart. She had a gift for making others feel welcome, lighting up every room with her laughter, warm smile, and love of capturing memories through countless selfies with family and friends.
A proud veteran, Tasya honorably served in the United States Army for 13 years. She carried the same dedication, ambition, and strong work ethic throughout her military service, career, and personal life, always putting others before herself.
In 2021, Tasya was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic lung cancer. Although she was initially given only months to live, she courageously fought the disease for 5 remarkable years. Throughout her journey, she never allowed her diagnosis to define her. Instead, she remained strong for those she loved, facing every challenge with grace, resilience, and determination. Her courage and unwavering spirit will forever inspire all who knew her.
Above all else, Tasya cherished her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandbabies. She also loved being outdoors, especially spending time up north with Brian, where she found peace in nature and joy in life's simple moments.
Tasya is lovingly survived by her partner, Brian; her children, Taylor, Kaila, Miranda (Ben), and Hunter; her cherished grandchildren, Maven, Scarlett, Benny, Camila, Carly, and Mason; her siblings, Shawn (Joel), Tiffany (Tim), and Gary (Lori); as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and dear friends who meant so much to her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan, and her son, Cody.
No services will be held at this time, but she will be laid to rest with full military honors at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.
A Celebration of Life will be held in mid-October. Additional details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
