In Loving Memory of Ted Williams

Ted Williams, 80, passed away peacefully at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin on June 25, 2026.

Ted was born on January 29, 1946, in Stonewall, Mississippi. He attended school in Mississippi through the eighth grade before beginning a lifetime of hard work. At the age of 18, he moved to Racine, Wisconsin, after first working in Georgia. He was employed at Belle City before beginning a 30-year career with Case New Holland (CNH), where he retired. Retirement from CNH did not slow him down, as he continued working for over 20 years at Summit Restaurant, where he enjoyed visiting with customers and friends.

On November 5, 1988, Ted married the love of his life, Jessica, in Racine, Wisconsin. With that marriage, he proudly became an instant father to Marzelle Honor, Atifa Honor-Robinson, and LaTosha Honor, embracing each of them with unconditional love and devotion.

Ted was a man of deep faith who loved God, family, and friends above all else. He enjoyed CB radio and was an active member of a CB club, where he proudly used the handle "Super Sport." He loved cooking on the grill, fishing, gardening, traveling, music, and spending time with those he loved.

One of Ted's greatest joys was helping others. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He believed education opened doors and took great pride in encouraging and helping his daughters earn their college degrees. Whether it meant driving grandchildren to school in Kenosha, attending their activities, or simply being there whenever someone needed him, Ted never hesitated to put others first. If someone he loved needed help, Ted would get in his vehicle and go wherever he was needed. He was a generous soul and will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and the joy he brought to those around him.

Ted leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Jessica Y. Williams; his daughters, Marzelle Honor, Atifa Honor-Robinson, and LaTosha Honor; his siblings, Wayne Williams, Maryetta (David) Carr, Eddie Williams, Peter Williams, Myra Williams, Michael (JoAnn) Williams, Iris Young,  Ruby M. Oliver, Rose (Jesse) Foster, Patricia Davis, Shelly Townsend, James R. (Betty) Townsend, and Tavares Davis; numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, including Eugene (Gloria) Irvin, Jesse M. Irvin, Aaron (Annie) Irvin, Kenneth (June) Irvin, Douglas (Denise) Williams, Donna Broom, Charlie Johnson, and Jessie Foster; along with his grandchildren, Amari Robinson, Jada Moné Robinson, Rayven Robinson, and Layla Robinson; his great-grandchildren, Shayne Warmann and Thorin Warmann; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and love.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Beatrice Young and James C. Townsend; his siblings, Donald Williams, Alfred Williams, Sally Williams, James A. "Tiny" Townsend, Robert H. Townsend, and Eloise "Weddie" Johnson; as well as in-laws, Gerald D. Oliver, Jesse James Irvin, Marzelle Irvin, Jackson High, Henrietta Sisson, Lawrence Irvin, and George Michael Irvin.

Ted's legacy is one of faith, hard work, generosity, laughter, and unconditional love. His life was a testament to serving others, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Family and friends are invited to meet Wayman AME Church (424 N. Memorial Dr) on Friday, JULY 17, 2026 , for a visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.  A service celebrating his life and Homegoing will take place at 11:00 am with Pastor Thomas Poole officiating.  His interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
