Terry Shufelt passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at age 56. He was born in Racine on January 3, 1959 to the late Durward "Duffy" and Ruth (nee: Summ) Shufelt.

He started playing drums when he was in junior high school and then moved to guitars.  He played with several different groups and eventually started his own band "Saffire" which was ranked one of the 5 top bands in S.E. Wisconsin and he was ranked one of the best guitarist in the area. He lived in Milwaukee for a short while and then moved back to Racine where he spent the rest of his life. He worked different jobs as a handy man, and he learned to be very good at fixing things – construction, roofing, painting, etc.  He also did volunteer work for Vision House and other areas in Racine. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed watching football with his friends.

He is survived by his brother, Phillip (Pam) Shufelt of Niagara, WI; sister, Barb (Bill) Myers of Racine, and sister, Debbie (Roger) Mock of Elgin, IL; his Aunt Vi Shufelt, Uncle Bob Shufelt, Aunt Bev Shufelt; niece Leslie Ann Myers, nephew Daniel Myers; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and both sets of Grandparents; his Aunt Betty Johnson, his Aunt Ila West, his Uncle Jim Shufelt, and his Uncle Larry Shufelt.

A very special mention for his friends Richard (Gopher) Coleman, Brenda Niebuhr, the late Tim Christensen and the late John (Worstley) Kelley for their many years of friendship to Terry.  Also a special mention of Sue Cordier.

A graveside service will be held on Aug 20 at 11:00 AM at Graceland cemetery with Pastor Gillian Weighton officiating.

He will truly be missed.
