Thelma G. Pinkard, age 86 of Chicago Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Washington Manor Care in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, on March 19, 1931, she was the daugher of the late Lewis Dorsey Garrett and Earline Harrison Garrett. Thelma made Chicago her home in the 1960’s. She worked as a legal secretary for Supreme Life Insurance and retired after 30 plus years of service.
She was a member of South Shore United Methodist Church (Chicago) where she served on the finance committee, actively participated in Sunday School and worked at the daycare center.
She is survived by her sister Ophelia Hill (Reginald and Thomasyne) of Birmingham, grandchildren, Cyndean Jennings of Kenosha, Tommy Jennings of Green Bay, and Tanya (Jake) Keenan of Wauwatosa; great grandchildren, Tammy Cuvilie, Kasheah Jennings, Olivia Keenan, Janessa Keenan, Melina Keenan, and Kavery Jennings, additional nieces, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her daughter Joanne Jennings, her brothers, Joseph Garrett, Lewis H. Garrett, and Elbert Garrett.
A Memorial Service will be held in Her Honor on Saturday, March 18, 2017,

Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, far as long as there is memory, they’ll live on in the heart.
