Ted G. Ricchio, 82, passed away with his family by his side, at Hospice Alliance – Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie on Saturday, September 2, 2017.

A lifelong resident of Racine, Ted was born on December 24, 1934, the son of the late Oscar and Gladys (nee: Rockwell) Ricchio. He graduated from St. Catherine's High School in 1953. After graduation, Ted enlisted in the U.S. Army. On October 5, 1957, he married June M. Porter at Holy Name Catholic Church.

Ted worked at Western Printing for 17 years and continued on to S.C. Johnson Wax, retiring 25 years later. His passionate dedication to music led him to play the drums with his brother, in the Trendells; a band that endured over 30 years. Ted was a fun loving man of strong faith, who gave God and his family his ultimate love.

He enjoyed photography, singing, spending time up north with his family, telling silly jokes (again and again) and a really good cup of coffee. Ted enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and was well known for his famous recipes and, delicious meatballs. He was a special, one-of-a-kind man who meant everything to his family. He was the best "Papa" in the whole wide world, and we will miss him dearly! Until recent health issues made it too difficult, he was a longtime member of both Holy Name and St. Lucy Catholic Churches.

In addition to his loving wife, June, Ted is survived by his sons and daughter, Randy (Deb) Ricchio of Racine, Tom Ricchio of New Port Richie, FL, Gary Ricchio and Cindy Ricchio both of Racine; his granddaughters, Dana, Sara and Kayla Ricchio; his sister and brother, Diane (Bob) Stamper of Franklin, Danny Ricchio of Sturtevant; his brother-in-law, Ed Sherman of New Berlin; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ted was also preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Mae Sherman and his brother-in-law, Ron Porter.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, September 11, 2017 (DAY AND TIME CHANGE) for a visitation and time to meet with his family from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  A service celebrating and honoring Ted's life will follow at 6:00 p.m. A private interment will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.  Memorials have been suggested to Hospice Alliance – Hospice House (10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158) and International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

The Ricchio family extends a heartfelt thank you to Hospice Alliance-Hospice House as well as Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center for the professional and loving care Ted received.
