Obituary

Theresa Itson-Sims, 60, of Racine, was called Home by her Loving Savior on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was born in Meridian, MS on July 27, 1964, the daughter of Sylvester and Gladys (nee: Killingsworth) Itson.

She graduated Park High School class of 1982.She then went on to be a Nursing Assistant at Lincoln Lutheran Nursing Home for  20 years and various other Nursing facilities. She then went on to be a Machine Operator for many years at various Factories. On August 16, 2010, she was united in marriage to Darrick Sims. Theresa loved her family VERY much! She loved to travel, be the life of the party,laugh and joke with her family and friends. Theresa also loved sewing, bowling,puzzles,baking, or simply being at home watching tv. Theresa was a longtime and faithful member of Gregg Chapel, under the leadership of Pastor David Green, where she loved to sing and be apart of the choir also.

Surviving are her husband, Darrick Sims; daughter, Kristen Swift; granddaughter, Jahnyia Andrews; mother, Gladys Itson; sister, Charita Itson; nieces and nephews, Shikeyla Buckley, Shaquille Buckley(Kristina Buckley), Bailey Barker, Sol Buckley, all of Racine, Sir Buckley, and Adonis Buckley, all of Racine. Uncles Charles (Dorothy) Killingsworth,Dr. Jessie (Mary Ann) Killingsworth all of Mississippi,Aunt Joyce (Lavern) Hill of Texas Patricia (Robert) Killingsworth of Mississippi Special Cousins: Marvis(Jackie) Killingsworth of Texas, Eddie Todd of Mississippi, along with a big host of loving cousins and friends too numerous to name whom Theresa loved dearly. Theresa was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester Itson; grandparents, Rev. J C and Susie Killingsworth, Clarence and Lucy Itson Sr.; uncle, Frank Itson, and nephew, Tracy Brown Jr.

Service Details

Her Homegoing Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, August 30 th at  11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
