Theresa B. Prewitt was a longtime resident of Kenosha, Wisconsin, before moving to Atlanta, Georgia. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to Herbert and Beatrice Catron.
Theresa graduated with honors from DuSable High School in Chicago, Illinois. She continued her education at Gateway Technical Institute, where she graduated with honors with a degree in Computer Science/Data Processing, and also attended the University of Wisconsin–Parkside.
After devoting 28 years of service to the City of Kenosha, Theresa retired in 2004. She later resided at Summerset Assisted Living in Atlanta, Georgia, where she passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at the age of 85.
Theresa enjoyed attending water aerobics and sharing lunch with friends at the Frank Bailey Sr. Center in Riverdale, Georgia. She especially enjoyed traveling, taking cruises with her family, dining out, and trying new restaurants. Theresa loved shopping, no matter the store, and had a special admiration for angels.
Theresa leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Kevin Prewitt (Andrea) and Erwin Anderson (Cynthia); her brothers, Charles Catron of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Douglas Catron (Carolyn) of San Bernardino, California; her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceded in death were her parents; her brothers, Clarence and Frank Catron; her sisters, Evelyn Lewis and Dorothy Wright; and her eldest son, Roy Prewitt Jr. In keeping with her wishes, Theresa's final resting place will be in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The viewing will be held at Draeger-Langendorf in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. CST. The funeral service will follow immediately from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. CST
