Obituary

Thomas J. Kellogg, age 74, of Racine passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, surrounded by the love of family.  Tom was born in Racine on August 5, 1949, a son of the late John W."Jack" and Mary Jo (nee; Malone) Kellogg. He graduated from UW Parkside with a history major and economics minor. He served his country in the U.S. Army, entering on April 10, 1973, until his discharge on March 10, 1977. On January 13, 1984, he was united in marriage to Amanda "Mandy" ( nee: Fiorentino). By far, the most enjoyable occupation he held was working as a private golf coach. Tom and his wife also owned a company specializing in the production and sales of tie dye clothing. He was also employed as an independent Insurance representative. The most important thing to Tom was family. He loved to get together with his siblings, kids and friends to play cards, and any card game was acceptable. He played sheepshead with his friends and had an amazing ability to read people and count cards. It was a rare night for him to lose money. Tom played golf, softball and basketball in his youth and adulthood until he couldn't. He was always excited to watch his kids and grandchildren's activities, baseball, basketball, music recitals, and even women's roller derby while both his wife and daughter played. He played professional golf as a member of the Southeast US tour from '72-'74. He took a lot of pride in being a golf pro and coaching and sharing the love of golf. If you ever had a hook. slice, or the shanks, you could call, and he would fix it while just talking to you. He was also a huge fan of the Brewers and Packers. His favorite baseball teams, though, were The Indians, The Rockies, The Steelheads and SCHS Angels-all teams that Devlyn has been playing on. Tom enjoyed mini vacations and planned an annual guys golf trip with friends, brothers, his father, father in law and eventually kids. Some men hunt, others play golf. Another favorite destination of Tom's was Door County. The family visits annually and one son was married there. The last family vacation was in Door County two weeks before his passing. Survivors include his wife, Mandy; his children, Alex (Anastasia), Connie, Jan (Thomas), John, Christopher (Leah) Kellogg, Liesel (Erin) Lalor, and Devlyn Kellogg; his grandchildren, Nikolai, Sasha, Mila, Abby, and Sam Kellogg, and Findlay, Emlynn, and Rowan Lalor; his siblings, Kay (Duane) Zitzner, Cynthia (Warren) Fremling, Mike (Mariann) Kellogg, Sue Christoplis, Tina (Mark) Diederich, Nancy (Tim) Hansen, and Pat (Natalie) Kellogg. Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Kellogg.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie Street, Racine. Full military honors will follow. A visitation will take place at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
