Racine – Thomas F. Maier, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. He was born in Racine on July 15, 1959, son of Frederick and Marguerite (nee: Blommel) Maier.

Tom was a 1977 graduate of J. I. Case High School. He had worked in the maintenance department at All Saints hospital. Tom was a kind thoughtful gentleman that was always willing to help others when he could; whether it was for a short-term loan, or simply caring for a friend's child so they could go to work. He was a fervent Star Trek fan, and enjoyed adding to his collection of memorabilia from the TV show.

Tom is survived by his brother Greg (Michele) Maier of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister JoAnn (Gary Van Eperen) Maier of Kaukauna; niece and nephews Tiana, Keaton, and Ryan Maier. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Theresa Bengston; and nephew Ian Maier.

A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012 with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Private interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery. All are invited to visit with the family in the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m.
