Timotea Bocanegra, 87, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018, at Lincoln Park Villa surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Crystal City, TX, on September 4, 1930, daughter of the late Francisco "Poncho" and Josefa Bocanegra.
Timotea had been a Racine resident most of her life. She had lived in San Jose, California for some years returning to Racine for the remainder of her life. Timotea had worked as a seamstress for Badger Uniform Company until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed baking, gardening, watching her Spanish Novelas, and just spending time with her loved ones at cookouts, birthday parties and holiday parties, or just on an everyday basis. She enjoyed having her occasional wine cooler at these gatherings. She will be remembered by her love and kindness and especially her wit and humor. Timotea will be dearly loved and missed by all who knew her.
Surviving Timotea are brothers/nephews, Cumesindo "Chindo" Bocanegra, Rolando (Linda O'Brien) Hibarra; nieces, Ofelia-Chela (Bill) Bodi, Jesus-Tuttie (Tracie) Bocanegra; great nieces, Lisa Bocanegra, Tina Bocanegra, Angel (Jenny) Hibarra, Leonard (Catherine) Hibarra, Felipe Hibarra, Joshua (Sara) Bodi, Cecelia (Charles) Flowers, J.J Bocanegra, and many more great nieces and nephews too many to mention.
In addition to her parents, Timotea was preceded in death by her brothers, Hipolito "Polo" (Elia) Bocanegra, Juan (Karen) Bocanegra; sister, Chavela Bocanegra; and niece, Rita Bocanegra.
Per Timotea's wishes, all services are private for the family.
