Vance Rush

Aug 3, 1935 – Jun 30, 2012

Racine- Mr. Vance Rush, age 76, passed away at Kindred Hospital in Greenfield, Wisconsin on Saturday, June 30, 2012.

Born August 3, 1935 in Indianola, Mississippi to Hattie Mae Williams and Tony Rush Sr. He lived in Mississippi and St. Louis before settling in Racine, WI in the mid seventies. He worked at Belle City Foundry and the City of Racine as an Environmental Service Provider until he retired.

Vance Rush was a member of the Mount Mariah M.B. Church of Indianola, MS for many years.

Vance Rush was preceded in his home going by his father, Tony Rush Sr.; his mother, Hattie Mae Williams; brother, Albert Rush; and sister, Minnie Lee Rush. He leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter, Sheila Rush and granddaughter, Courtney De’ Ann Jackson.

He is survived by his three sisters and six brothers, Ameena Ghani, of Bristow, VA; Annie Ree Rush, Kaukauna, WI; and Linda Thomas, Atlanta, GA; Tony Rush Jr. of Indianola, MS; Elijah (Ernestine) Rush, Chicago, IL; Shaheed A. (Rachiel) Ghani, Racine, WI; Balil Ghani, Kaukauna, WI; Tony P. Johnson, Tennessee; Wali Ghani, of DePaul, MN., and numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11 am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 10-11 am.
