Vanessa Bernice James, 43, was called Home by her loving Savior, on Saturday, January 27, 2018.

She was born in Gary, IN on November 23, 1974, the daughter of Howard Lee and Jewell (Nee: Wright)  James Sr. Vanessa was a teacher at Moes Learning Academy.

Surviving are her children, Dontrenice Foster, De'Zhane James, D'Amontae Hattix, Dymond Moore, Dasan Moore, Amya Matthews, Kaylian Matthews; grandson D'Amontae Hattix Jr.; mother, Jewell James; siblings, Corey James, Howard James Jr., Richard James, Sheila Marsh, Mavis James, Stacey James, and Loletta James. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Lee James Sr.

Her Homegoing Service will be held in the Greater Grace Temple on Tuesday, Feb. 6 ^th at 11:00 a.m., visitation will be I the church on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
