Obituary

Racine – Vicki Elyse (nee: Martin) Wade, age 59, passed away peacefully into eternal life at her home on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, with her loving husband Glenn Wade and newly found friend and caregiver, Wendy Gomez at her side; after a courageous battle with head and neck cancer.

Vicki was born in Racine, WI, on December 29, 1953, to Verland and Irene Martin.  She attended Washington Park High School and worked numerous places throughout her career.  She moved to Green Bay, WI, in 1979, but returned to Racine in 1986 to care for her ailing father.  It was then that she met her future husband and best friend, Glenn. They were united in marriage on December 29, 1998.

Vicki loved spending time on the beautiful Racine lake front where she enjoyed fishing for perch with her "fishing buddies".  Nearly every morning she could be found on the lake with her faithful German Short-haired Pointer, Cleo, and her precious camera.  They would walk for miles.  She was an avid photographer. She had an eagle's eye for capturing the very essence of a magnificent sunrises or anything in else in the environment that the lens of her camera came across.  Vicki was passionate reader. Stephen King books became some of her favorites and she would read an entire book in one day.  Vicki was accomplished at crocheting and needlepoint.  Vicki was the number one fan of the Green Bay Packers; she never missed a game.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Glenn Wade; sister, Pat (Dennis) LaFave; brother-in-law, Eric Wagner; nieces, Renae, Haley, Denise LaFave, Michelle LaFave, Justine and Bill Berta; nephews, David (Katherine) LaFave, John (Barbara) Brahm; lifelong friend, Elaine Olson. Her great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her.  Vicki was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sandy Wagner.

In accordance with Vicki's wishes, cremation will take place. A service of remembrance will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at 7:00 pm. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 until the time of the service.
