Obituary

Tucson, Arizona – Virginia M. Swiencicki, 76, passed away in her home in Tucson on Monday, August 27, 2007. She was born in Racine on November 26, 1930, daughter of the late Alex and Veronica (nee: Protska) Swiencicki. Virginia was employed at the Racine County Human Services Department for over 33 years, where she worked as an Administrative Assistant. She was a faithful member of St. Lucy's Catholic Church. Her home in Racine brought they great pleasures of gardening and hosting many family gatherings. She was known for her innovative fun recipes and fine cooking. All relatives and many charities have an afghan she knitted. Italy was her favorite international travel site. She visited Leningrad and Moscow before the dissolution of the Soviet Union. She traveled regularly and extensively in the U.S., where Sedona, Arizona captivated her. In midlife she was stricken with Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to her brothers and sisters, her neighbors Betty and Stan Wielgart, Ann and Mike Chasar, and Frances Scott graced her life with their affection and attentions. In 2002 she moved to Tucson to live with her sister, Marge. She is survived by her sisters, Marge Swiencicki and Helen Wolf both of Tucson, Patricia (Lee) Carbonneau of Evanston, Illinois; her brother, John (Patricia) Swiencicki of Racine; as well as her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her brother, Al Swiencicki. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2007 with Rev. Jeffrey M. Thielen officiating. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery will follow the service. All are invited to meet in the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society have been suggested.
