Obituary

Caledonia – Virginia Charlotte Worden, 80, received the promise of eternal life on Friday, September 19, 2014, surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Racine on August 29, 1934, daughter of the late Albert and Charlotte (née: Schwartz) Kautzer.

Virginia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Wayne Allen Worden, on August 27, 1955, at St. Edward Catholic Church.

Virginia was a teacher for St. Edward's School before leaving to become a full time homemaker, ultimately raising nine children.  Virginia and Wayne have been members of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for many years.  She was an avid gardener and loved tending to God's beautiful creations.  Above all, Virginia treasured her family and cherished the time spent with all of them.  She will be dearly missed.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 59 years, Wayne Worden; children, Catherine (Dan) DeBonis, James (Katy) Worden, John (Kelly) Worden, Thomas (Lisa) Worden, Mary Worden, Michael Worden, Georgia (Brian) Grube, Linda Worden, Wayne (Debbie) Worden; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her son, Anthony Worden (stillborn); brothers, Charles Albert Kautzer, and Albert Theodore Kautzer, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, 6:00pm, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00pm until the time of the service.  Burial will take place on Thursday, September 25,, 2014, 9:00am, at Holy Cross Cemetery on Highway 32 in Caledonia.  In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt "Thank You" to the staffs of Hospice Alliance and Home Instead for the love and care that they gave to our mother during her time of illness.
