RACINE – Mr. Wayne L. Frayer, 89, passed away at WFH – All Saints on Tuesday, July 22, 2014.

He was born in Burlington on December 4, 1924, the son of Edward and Lillian (nee: Olson) Frayer.  On November 28, 1944, he married the love of his life, Evelyn M. DeGroot.  She preceded him in death on December 12, 2005.

Mr. Frayer served his nation with the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII.  Upon returning home, he would work for Racine Plating Company for over 50 years, retiring as foreman.

In his younger years, Mr. Frayer was active with his children's activities and sporting events.  He coached St. Edward's baseball, leading the team to three championships (1965, 66, 68).  He also enjoyed playing softball, bowling and gardening in his yard.  However, he was happiest when in the presence of his family.

Mr. Frayer is survived by his six children, Bill (Virginia) Frayer, Tom (Sherry) Frayer both of Racine, Randy (Nancy) Frayer of Sleepy Hollow, IL, Terri (Fred) Dacquisto of Mount Pleasant, Nancy (Scott) Starrett of WashingtonDC, Mary (Kevin) Marchant of Sturtevant; his grandchildren, Mark Frayer, Sarah (Matt) Stiff, Robert (Becky) Frayer, Christine Frayer, Jessica (Ben) Walthers, Scott (Jamie) Frayer, Cori (Aaron) Kovac, Nikki Frayer, Emily Dacquisto, Tia Dacquisto, Samantha (Chris) Robinson, Lexie Starrett, Kristopher (Jaime) Kamakian, Kody Marchant; his great grandchildren, Taylor and Colin Stiff, Evan and Ashlyn Frayer, Brody Walthers, Kolton Kamakian; his sisters-in-laws, Bernice Sullivan, Joan Seitz, Rosemary DeGroot, Joan DeGroot all of Racine and Vivian DeGroot of Manitowoc; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Susie Frayer; his brother, Ward (Pearl) Frayer and sister, Marion (Chuck) Dobbs.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. for a visitation.  A service celebrating and honoring Wayne's life will held be at St. Edward's Catholic Church (15th St. and Grove Avenue) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.  There will also be a visitation in the church from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m.  His interment with military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.  Memorials have been suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
