Racine (formerly of Kenosha)- Wendy Sue (nee: Hupp) Leittl-Sprague, 48, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Centre on Sunday, August 31, 2008 following a courageous four-year battle with melanoma. Wendy was born in Kenosha on May 15, 1960 to Marvin and Jeanette (nee: Michell) Hupp. She graduated from Reuther High School in 1978. Wendy was employed by the Andis Clipper Company for nearly 10 years until her failing health forced her to retire this past December. Among her interests, Wendy enjoyed camping, attending car shows, and was passionate about her owl collection. Above all, she loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family. Surviving are her husband, Rick Sprague; children, Michelle Leittl – age 23 and Austin Sprague – age 9; mother, Jeanette Hupp; brothers and sisters, Edward (Sonja McClure) Nelson, Nancy (Tony) Meyers, Gerry (Donna) Hupp, Christine Koski, Ann (Richard) Seng, Patty (John) Bella and Tom (Penny) Hupp; father-in-law, Francis Lee Sprague; brother-in-law, David Sprague; sister-in-law, Sherry (Gary) Horton; and many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Hupp. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 7:00 pm with Rev. Robert E. Wang, of Somers Community Church, officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 pm. Private committal services will take place on Friday in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In memory of Wendy, memorials to her family have been suggested. A special note of thanks to Dr. Michael P. Mullane and his entire staff; the Hospice Alliance and to WFH- All Saints Medical Center for the compassionate care and support that was so warmly extended to Wendy in her time of need.
