Racine- William "Bill" D. Hay, age 43, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, in his sleep on October 31, 2013.

Bill was born October 12, 1970 in Kenosha but lived in Racine most of his life. He was diagnosed with kidney disease in his early teens, thus struggling with his health most of his life. He underwent two transplants, both of which eventually failed. Despite his health struggles, he took an interest in bowling, and the bowling business, taking to both well. He worked many years at Plaza Bowling Center, starting as a pin-chaser, eventually moving to equipment installation and repair. He also managed the Pro Shop at Plaza, fitting and drilling bowling balls for all ages and skill levels. He bowled well also, with 3 800 series and 9 300 games, including being one of 2 or 3 people in city history to throw back to back 300s. Fittingly, the last 800 was also the last time he bowled on April 26, 2010.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Daniel; father, Michael (Martha) Hay; brothers, Doug (Cathy) and Jon Hay; sister, Kathy (Dean) Berget, and countless friends and fellow bowlers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Conley.

Cremation has taken place, and family is planning a memorial to celebrate Billy's life at "The Lanes" bowling center, 6501 Washington Avenue, date and time to be announced when confirmed.
