William G. Schlachter, 62, passed away at his residence. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 29, 1954 the son of the late Frank and Marjorie (nee: Goettler) Schlachter.

Bill graduated from St. Catherine's High School in 1972. He was a member of the Cross Country and Track teams that won several state titles back in the day at St Cat's. He continued to be lifelong friends with fellow teammates. Bill went on to get his Bachelor's degree in Forestry from the University of Minnesota. He was employed by S.C. Johnson and Son for over 30 year retiring in 2011.

He enjoyed spending time at his property near Castle Rock Lake in the summer and New Smyrna Beach, FL in the winter. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and enjoying the camaraderie with his friends. He was a long time member of the Racine Curling Club.  Bill was also a member of the Johnson 30 Year Club and the J.M.B.A.

Surviving are his brother and sister-in- law, Neal and Jamie Schlachter, of Monona, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of close friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ellen Rasmussen.
