Racine – William L. Winterle, 76, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Friday, January 22, 2016. He was born on December 23, 1939, son of the late Leonhart and Hertha (nee: Schlei) Winterle. William was a graduate of Racine Lutheran High School.

William enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons; snowmobiling; and socializing with friends. He worked for many years driving for many construction companies, most recently with A.W. Oakes and Sons. Following his retirement, William enjoyed living in Wild Rose.

He is survived by his children, Eric (Kathleen) Winterle, Lauren (Corey) Bethke, Matthew Winterle, and Tricia (Michael) Jaeger; grandchildren, LeAnne (Robert) Beard, Brandon Winterle, Jason Winterle, Madison Jaeger, Gabrielle (Zach) Dunn, Kaitlin Jaeger, and Michael Jaeger; 6 great-grandchildren, sisters, Marilyn Mahoney, and Judy Goltz; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his infant son, William J. Winterle; brother, Leonhart "Lenny" Winterle; and his former wife, Sharon (nee: Hoey) Winterle Chaussee.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 6pm with Pastor Ralph "Doc" Scherer officiating. Visitation will begin at 4pm and continue until the start of the service. Interment services will be held in the chapel at West Lawn Memorial Park at 10am on Wednesday January 27, 2016.
