Racine– Winoner Juanita (nee: Lee) High, age 79, affectionately known by everyone her entire life as "Nita", passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Froedtert Hospital.

Nita was born in Ackman (Choctaw County), Mississippi on August 9, 1934 to Mr. & Mrs. Robert and Gussie Beatrice (nee: Reed) Lee. The Lee family later moved to  Kosciusko (Attala County), Mississippi where Nita accepted Christ at an early age. Nita was a longtime member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Racine, where she was active in the church's Willing Workers club and a Pastor's Aide. She remained very active in church until her health failed. Nita worked many jobs throughout the years. In her younger years, she was always known to be a very classy dresser.

When Nita moved to Racine, she met the love of her life, Jackson "Jack" High, of whom she married on Christmas Day. Every year after, she celebrated her two precious loves on December 25th….her Heavenly Father – Jesus Christ and her beloved husband, Jack.

Nita leaves to cherish her memory: 2 brothers, James Davis of Joliet, IL and Henry (Renee) Lee of Racine; 3 step-children; sisters-in-law, Ethel Mae Lee of Philadelphia, MS; Kay Lee of Kosciusko, MS; and Christine Lee of Flora, MS; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Although Nita did not have any biological children of her own, she was indeed a mother figure for many throughout her lifetime.

In addition to her husband, Jackson; and parents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Lee; Nita was preceded in death by her brothers, Victor Lee Sr., Sammy Lee Sr. and James Walter Lee;   sister, Mary Lou (nee: Lee) Ruffin; and sister-in-law, Zenobia Davis.

A Service of Homegoing will be celebrated on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00 am in United Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 1327 Blake Avenue, with Rev. Greg Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Viewing will be in the church on Friday from 10-11 am.
