AnnaMae Glass

Feb 3, 1925 – Oct 26, 2005

AnnaMae (nee: Christofferson) Glass, died October 26, 2005 in Milwaukee 7 weeks after being diagnosed with metastatic cancer. “Mother Dear” of David (Linda) of Racine, Laurie K. of Shorewood, and Christopher of Lancaster, CA. Grandma of Kevin (Kathie), Ryan (Sara Wesener), Kelly, Jason and Kari. Great-Grandma of Darian. Also survived by sisters, Marjorie (the late Robert) Larson of Ventura, CA and Carol (Walter) Netzel, Coulee Dam, WA., and ex-husband William A. Glass, Racine. Preceded in death by her parents, Victor C. and Viola C. Christofferson. Anne was born in Racine (February 3, 1925), raised in Racine and traveled the world as a military wife for twenty years. Having lived in Japan, St. Louis, Denver, Virginia, Illinois, the Panama Canal Zone and South Carolina, she returned to Racine in 1965. She was a homemaker until 1983 when she entered the job market as a child care provider. Anne was a wiz at crosswords puzzles (always in ink), read 2-3 books a week, and enjoyed helping others by providing transportation, delivering meals and running errands. She enjoyed all of her grandchildren and knew Laurie’s friends and neighbors from the time she spent in Milwaukee. For the last few years, Anne’s life was affected by memory loss and forgetfulness. She was able to stay in “the red house”, her independent nature overpowering her children’s wishes for her to move. As she showed less willingness to venture out and less interest in our activities, we began to miss the mother we knew In her final weeks she was in St. Mary’s Medical Center (Racine) Unit 2D, Columbia- St. Mary’s Hospice and Ruth Hospice (Milwaukee). Ann and Jeanne from Horizon Home Care and Hospice provided support and guidance as we met the challenges that faced us. In each place the staff provided excellent care. The kindness and loving care provided by the entire staff at Ruth Hospice embraced our family and made all of our lives the best they could be during the last five weeks. We sincerely thank them. Family and friends may visit with the family , in the funeral home on Monday, October 31st, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.. At 6:00 p.m. there will be remarks by family and friends. Memorials to the family (for the Ruth Hospice wish list).

Testimonials

January 9, 2025

Michael,

First, let me start out by saying you were a God sent working with me for many years in preparations for my mom’s Homegoing Celebration December 7, 2024.  Even though this was our first time meeting in person, I felt like I already knew you.  Michael, you demonstrated  professionalism, empathy and, your warmth was surprising for me considering your role as a Funeral Director. Your attention to every detail, patient and support has made this process much easier for my family and me. I trusted you and you helped me find closure in a moment of great sadness, and for that we’re eternally grateful. I appreciate the time and energy you put into ensuring everything ran smoothly considering I reside in a different state.  Michael, my mom would have loved you and our family is forever grateful for your unwavering dedication and support during our season of grief.  May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. (Numbers 6:25)

Valerie Tucker and the Family of Barbara Bell
