RACINE – Mr. Paul J. Carey, 74, died surrounded by his family at Kindred Hospital of Greenfield on Monday, December 5, 2005. He was born in Morris, IL. on October 7, 1931, the son of the late William and Elizabeth (nee: Todd) Carey. On September 1, 1956 he married the former Margaret Rita Carey at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Chicago. Mr. Carey graduated from Lewis University. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where he served as past-president and member of the parish council and as a lector. Surviving are his devoted wife, Rita; their children, Joe (Jeni) Carey of Brown Deer, Jay Carey, Mike Carey, Pam Carey, all of Racine, JoAnne (Jim) Cappuccio of LaCrosse, and Barb (Jim) Kelly of Racine; 8 grandchildren, Sara and Meg Carey, Carey, Joe and Jamie Cappuccio, Shannon, Michael, and Jack Kelly; sisters, Rita (Dave) Gourley of Joliet, IL, Tess (Bill) McNiff of Normal, IL; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Carey, Audrey Carey both of Joliet, IL, Joan Murphy of Tinley Park, IL. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, his brothers and sisters, William and Richard Carey, Bette Dempsey, Mary, Agnes and Margaret Carey all preceded him in death. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (5400 Spring St) on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 10:30 a.m.with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Garden Crypts. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and in the Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, his family has suggested memorials be directed to either Bethany Apartments or the Southeastern Cancer Center at All Saints Medical Center.
